RAPPORT TALK
AND REPORT TALK
Men and women are very different from
each other in many ways. One of them is their talking amounts. Do women talk
more or men talk more? This question has always been a difficult question to
answer. Because people can not come to an agreement about the answer. In this
article, named rapport talk and report talk, Deborah Tannen explains gender
communication and the differences between man and woman. According to Deborah
Tannen, men and women differ in the way puplic speaking and private speaking. Deborah
Tannen sees man as puplic speakers. Because men talk for information and so
they like talking to other peoples. Men are better than women in terms of puplic
speaking. So here men are called report talk according to Debarah Tannen. Women
are different that they use language to express their feeling. And women like
private speaking and they are better than men at this point. Because of those,
Deborah Tannen sees women as rapport talkers. In the article it is stated that
men do not like talking about everything. Unless there is something to say. They
do not talk. But women speak almost about everything. They want to speak for interaction. For
example In the evening women want to talk how was the day, what happened etc.
but men are not like that. That’s why many of women are complaining about their
husbands.
Then what about the question that which
one talk more , men or women ??? I think this issue is depends on the
personality. Because this is about the structure of human being. I mean that is
something about personality. But to tell the truth there is a common perception
that women talk much more than men. But that is not certainly true. As I said
before, this is about the person’s character…

In the article -I Surf, Therefore I Am- ; the teacher whose name is Judith Levine, demonstrates that students do not use internet for their courses or homeworks. She points out that internet is used just for surfing by students. I think she has a point because as a student, I am also an internet user but I use internet mostly for surfing or playing games etc. So this is a serious issue and we should realise something. Internet is something we use mostly for fun, not for their education. Judith Levine also presses this point. She says internet has a great effect on students. Besides once they start using it, they can not leave it. Many students are becoming addicted to the Internet. They spend more and more time on playing computer games or just surfing on the net without any particular reasons. Accordingly, the time they spend on studying is automatically reduce, which in turns causes the lower academic achievement. Moreover, some of them go to the extreme, becoming serious internet addicts, and they even refuse to go to school as they cannot escape from the trap of internet. Another aspect is, internet hinders students from doing their homework or assigned task by their own. Thanks to internet, students can obtain the information they need with a great ease by simply clicking the button. However, this great accessibility to any kind of information can be abused. For instance, when students are given an assignment, what many of them do is just go on the websites or the blogs where the needed information is posted, and drag, they copy and paste it without looking the text thoroughly. Some students even download the material which someone else has already done and submit it as if it were their own work. So as we see internet is not a good helper for student but if used right, it has many information for everything …

In
this article, it is indicated that the opinion that young people , especially
teenagers, leave their homes or families after a certain period is not exactly
true. We can say this depending on this article. Because there are a lot of
examples that shows us Italien peoples that stay with their parents until their
30s and even 35s. I read this article and it really attract my attention. Because
this is an interesting and even extraordinary fact comparing the present
condition of life. Why those Italian men prefer to live with their parents
instead of choosing a life that on their own? The answers for this question can
be many. Maybe they love their parents and they do not want to be apart from
them. Maybe they are lazy and don’t like working so they want everything prepared and ready for
themselves. But it is maybe because of the difficulties of living in Italy. Maybe
it is not as easy as other countries to get along in Italy.
Those
are possible answers but maybe all of them have an effect on their
lifestyle. There are also some records that we can get information from. Those records have very surprising facts.
Here is one of them :
According to a report published on Wednesday, almost a third
of Italian adults (31%) live with their parents. The highest proportion was
among 18- to 29-year-olds, for whom unemployment is particularly high, with
60.7% reported living at home.
This report shows
that the unemployment has a big effect on men’s living with their parents.
After I see that the economy is effective about that, I
think those Italian men are right about what they are doing. But still living
with your family even after a certain age is very unfamiliar thing for our country. We never break the
connection with our families but living with them always is kind of weird...

is about the tv serial how I met your mother and how the characters in this
movie live their life and how they make
life better. After you watch it I am sure you are going to love it. Because this
video gives some clues about how a group of friends live their life, how
enjoyable time they spent together and how they are having fun. In one way,
they also teach us how tol ive for a happy life. In this tiring World people should find a way
to make life better and make this World a more entertaining place. Besides being
busy doing our casual works, responsibilities we shave to find ways to cheer up and live a
happy life. That we want to have a nice life is depent on us. In this video we
can see that thse people can make life funnier. Why wouldn’t we do that? We should
do evrything that we need to live org et along but the point is we shouldn’t do
that too much. The solution is just live and fell the moment I think. Do not

serial that tells the history of agroup
of friends. Their names are Ted Mosby, Robin Scherbatsky, Barney Stinson, Marshall
Eriksen and Lily Aldrin. To learn more about them and this tv serial let’s take
look at some informations about them :
Production of this tv serial is the
idea of two friends, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. They decide to write their crazy and stupid
staff they did in New York.
How I Met Your Mother is a comedy
about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best
friend, Marshall (Jason Segel), drops the bombshell that he's going to propose
to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At
that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to
find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney (Neil Patrick Harris),
a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and

(Top Ten Most Popular Sports In the World)
In this video, as we mentioned before it gives informations
about the top ten most popular sports, how many people like those sports etc.
Some more informations about the complicated ones :

Golf is placed on tenth position in the list of top
ten most famous sports in the world. It is not so popular in middle class
because it needs a spacious ground. The equipment’s used in this game
are so expensive. Tiger Woods is the most popular player of this game and he is
the richest player in the world. It is also very popular in India. Jeev Milkha
Singh and Jyoti Randhava are most prominent Indian Golfers. the combination of
ball sport and club is golf. In this game different variety of clubs are
there, and each club is use to hit the ball in a different manner. The target
is to place the ball inside the holes on the ground by hitting them with the
clubs.

Baseball comes on fifth position in the list of most
famous sports in the world. The basic idea of Baseball is like Cricket. It is
not so popular in India because of monopoly of Cricket in our Country. Baseball
also gave a plenty of legends to the world. Baseball is quicker in result than
Cricket. That is why it is more popular in some countries.

Hockey stands on fourth position in the list of most
famous sports in the world. Hockey is the national sport of India but the
popularity of hockey in India is less than that of Cricket. Like Cricket and
Football, Hockey also consists of two tems and there are 11 players in each
team. The time period of a game is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Each team has to send
the ball into the goal of opposition with the help of a stick. There is
goalkeeper to protect the goal from the ball.
Major Dhyanchand of India is famous as ‘ THE WIZARD OF
HOCKEY’. Like Football and Cricket, Hockey also has a world cup tournament in
every 4 years.

Cricket is the second most famous sport of the world.
There are two teams in this sport and each team has 11 players. There are many
activities in this sport like batting, bowling, fielding, etc. If one team
bowls, other has to bat and scoring runs by running between the wicket and
scoring boundaries. This sport is controlled by International Cricket Council
(ICC). The Indian authority of Cricket is BCCI. There are different versions of
this sport i.e. One Day International (ODI), Test cricket and Twenty 20.
50 overs game is called one day match, 20 overs match is T20 and five day
unlimited overs match is Test match. India is the two time winner of Cricket
World Cup in 1983 under the leadership of Kapil Dev and in 2011 under the
captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Brian Lara,
Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Glenn Mcgrath, Brett
Lee etc are living legends of this sport. Indian Premiere League is started in
India to improve the popularity of the shortest version of this game. The
concept of IPL is so good and the players and other officials associated with
IPL earn a lot of money and viewers also enjoy to watch the legends playing
together in a match. We can say it is the most famous sport in India.

entertaining ones as they are really loved by most people. But still some of
them are not familiar for our country. So
I think we should practice as more sports as we can to make our life more

Sports are
essential like food or water in today’s World I guess and I’m really happy
about that. Because I like sports with
regards of both watching and doing.
There are
many types of sports as everybody know. This is probably because of the
diversity of people’s interest. But of course there are certain types that
majority of people do or watch. Gauging sports popularity is an exciting and
challenging task. Fans all over the world of a sport is the important parameter
to evaluate their prominence. There may be various purposes for playing a
sport but the viewership is the key factor that enables any sport or sports
person leave a benchmark. Be it football, cricket, Tennis or golf each game has
quintessentially made sports a magnificent affair globally. Moreover countries
like India, Spain, Australia and many more are indeed a perfect host for
different leagues and championships making sports events memorable for the
billions of fans all over the world. There are hundreds of sports with wavering
admiration in different countries across the globe but who tops the list? Now

In this
video, we can see a summary of the wars that existed after 1000 AD to todays. I
liked thid video after I watch it and I wanted to share it in my blog for more
people watch it. As we see in the video, wars barelly stopped in last
millennium. It means there have been wars constantly and billions of people
have been dying because of these great number of wars. But why we had so many
wars? What is the problem people did not able to solve? Why wars are necessary?
What is simple answers for this question? I find these answers :
-We have
wars because two or more groups cannot or were unable to agree with idea or
beliefs through communication dialog. Eventually each group is forcing for
other group to concede to his idea, rather than their own by force. When this
force is used, it becomes a war.
-Say I want
your property ... You're too small to stop me, so I take it ... Another person
tells me to give it back, but I refuse ... now what? Unless those who think I
should give it back are willing to use force to make me (war) - I'm not giving
it back, and you're out of luck. And then I keep taking things from you, and
nobody stops me. Sure, they may call me a bad person and say they won't be my
friend (sanctions) - but I don't care. >> Now do you understand why war
is sometimes necessary?
Whatever the
answer is, innocent people dies because of wars. This must matters us. Human
life shouldn’t be so cheap.
In the las
of the video, it says ^^ to be continued^^ and it is right because there is
always something to make people fight. But in the end innocents get hurt. Maybe
this the rule of the World but we hope that it will change…

WARS IN THE WORLD
Why do wars
exist? Was there ever been a time in world history when
there were no wars or conflicts? I think maybe there were times that people
didn’t fight like in the earliest times of humanity when groups of
people were unaware of each other . But it is reasonable to think that even at that times , conflicts ,
disagreements always existed. Or we can say that they existed with the
humanity. But why do people make wars ? Isn’t that possible to live without any fight or war?
The answers for this question are generally NO for most people. My answer is also "NO"
however cold it sounds. Because we are
human being not angels and this is real world not paradise. Inside of any human
being, I am sure there is a evil wish. But of course there are people that can
overcome it and ignore these bad thoughts and I’m also sure most people in the World
can achieve it but there have always been those that overwhelmed by his bad desires. When that kind of people
face against then wars are inevitable and those of good people are also exposed
to wars.
In history , espcially World wars and some
other wars that happen between strong countries take millions of human’s lifes.
In the recent years we can see lots of
wars. Starting with a country and then passes the neigbouring countries like
those called Arab Baharı. The last country countinues that is Syria, our
neigbohood. It is very serious situation for us and we should be careful. The whole
World talking about that and there are serious rumours about Syrian government
using chemical bombs and nucleer weapons. Here is a news about it from BBC :

2012, the Syrian government implicitly admitted what had long been suspected by
experts in the field of chemical weapons proliferation - that Syria had stocks
of chemical weapons.
Damascus
said the weapons, stored and secured by the armed forces, would never be used
"inside Syria", but would be used against an external attack.
I hope these
conflict , war finishes as immediate as
possible and those people living there find peace in shortest time. We should

FOOTBALL TERROR İN THE WORLD
As we all see, football is not just a game, sport ; it is also
a reson , a source of fight , diagreement or conflict for those
that are the supporter of the diffferent teams . Starting with the born
of football , we can see lots of example of fights between people that
fun of different teams . For instance , a recent incident , in our country ,
the two most rival team of TURKEY , Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe played the
match and after the match , a group of Fenerbahçe funs attack a
Galalatasaray fun and he used his knife to protect himself and killed one of
those men . This is a recent incident and there are many other examples of the
football terror in most of the countries of the world . Another example is . 1967
Kayseri Atatürk Stadium disaster refers to an
occurrence of football hooliganism, resulting in 40 deaths and at least 300
injuries (according to newspaper Hürriyet's headline 600) during
the football match held on September 17, 1967 between the clubs
of Kayserispor and Sivasspor at theAtatürk Stadium of Kayseri in Turkey. It was the worst sports-related violence to occur in
Turkey.
The violence started following provocation
of the Kayserispor fans in the half time, whose team went to leading by a goal
scored in the first half. Supporters of the two teams threw rocks to each
other. Some of the hooligans were
also armed with bats and knives. The fleeing crowd caused astampede in front of the stand exits. The events in the stadium were followed
by vandalism in Kayseri and many-days lasting riots in Sivas.
Actually , sports are the activities that strengthen the rivalry and
friendships. It is the first goal of all kind of sports but unfortunately
people forget it when something happens that they do not want or face like loosing matches etc.
I
hope someday people realize the main goal of football and learn to Show respect
because sports mean RESPECT.

HELPİNG ENDANGERED SPECİES
Those
peoples in this video are arguing to find ways to help endangered animals and
to save them. They try to find solutions to their problems. They make laws to protect them. This is a nice work. Everyone should do
something to help. Anyone should be sensitive about that like these people in video. Because there is a
problem that all people familiar: endangered species. All animals or plants are
important and all have their special tasks and they do it. But some species are
facing extinction because of some reasons. But it is a fact that all creatures
should be alive for natural balance. So people should do something to help
those endangered species to stay alive. In order to help endangered species,
it's important to understand the causes of their endangerment, such as habitat
loss, exploitation, pollution, climate change, invasive species and diseases.

ENDANGERED SPECİES
There are billions of creatures living on the earth. Each
of them has special characteristics and different qualities.But there is a fact that nowadays there are some kind of animals or plants that are facing extinction. there are limited number of them. They need to be protected. People must do something to save them because all creatures live in a harmony , they are all related to each other . They are very
important not only for naturel balance of the world but also for people.Today a
lot of research and experiments shows how an animal or a plant, which maybe we
think useless, plays important roles for the natural life.It is also an
undeniable fact that today there are lots of things in our daily life which are
obtained from animals or plants that we use as drugs for healing from illnesses,
we eat to survive or we use for entertainment or fun. Maybe those endangered
species will be discovered to be important for our life in the future. So we should do something for them to
survive. In the natural life all
animals, plants are living in a harmony. Each creature has special tasks that
crucial for life. In a habitat, all animals and plants’ life are connected one
another and if one is gone, it affects all the member off the habitat.Today
researchers are continuing to find out how some kind of fishes get along
together or how some birds and big land mammals make use of each other. They
are important for each other. It also shouldn’t be forgotten that every
creature has the right to live on earth. People should respect it. And we must
try not to disturb them. So all creatures are
very important. We can’t say it is already useless for us about a kind of animal
or plant that is facing extinction. And we must do whatever we can to help
those endangered species continue to live.

İn this video, the teacher helps
and teaches the child to pronunciate and write the words right. Every child who
has problem and difficulty to write or read needs help and it is everybody’s
duty to assist them. This teacher and many other like her think so and they do
as much as they can to help them. Anyone who can hear can learn to crack the reading and spelling code
using the alphabetic code, for quicker understanding and skill acquisition.
Reading and spelling are unique in that skills needed to crack the English
alphabetic code must be taught directly, systematically and explicitly. The
majority of children cannot 'discover' reading and spelling without guided
teaching. It is a reality. There are some common problems like slow reading. One of
the reasons that these learners read more slowly is that they seem less able to
identify the organization of a passage of text. Since efficient comprehension
relies on the reader's ability to see the pattern or the direction that the
writer is taking, parents and teachers can help these readers by spending more
time on building background for the reading selection, both in the general
sense of concept building and in the specific sense of creating a mental scheme
for the text organization. Many times, drawing a simple diagram can help these
readers greatly. So there are a lot of different ways to help them
develop. But there should be volunteers to help more children.

Developing can be achieved
thanks to education. The first step in education is learning to read and write. So reading and
writing are the basic tools for
developing. Also it is every child’s right to learn these basic qualifies.
In addition ,
it is vital for children ,from different social groub to different
intelligence, to learn reading and writing to achieve general – global development in the world. Second, beginning with the birth human being needs to learn. It is like a basic
need. But every child has different
intelligence. But it does not mean that those who have difficulty in
learning how to read or write or something different don’t want or need to learn
something. We
are living in a developed world and everybody have to adapt it to be able to
live. So we should help children who need help
to learn .Furthermore,without
knowing how to read and write it would be very difficult to live. Today people
are getting job according to their literacy. So reading and writing are basic skills and
every child must learn them. Also I think helping children who have difficulty
in reading writing are important and everybody should see it as a duty.
