RAPPORT TALK AND REPORT TALK

Men and women are very different from each other in many ways. One of them is their talking amounts. Do women talk more or men talk more? This question has always been a difficult question to answer. Because people can not come to an agreement about the answer. In this article, named rapport talk and report talk, Deborah Tannen explains gender communication and the differences between man and woman. According to Deborah Tannen, men and women differ in the way puplic speaking and private speaking. Deborah Tannen sees man as puplic speakers. Because men talk for information and so they like talking to other peoples. Men are better than women in terms of puplic speaking. So here men are called report talk according to Debarah Tannen. Women are different that they use language to express their feeling. And women like private speaking and they are better than men at this point. Because of those, Deborah Tannen sees women as rapport talkers. In the article it is stated that men do not like talking about everything. Unless there is something to say. They do not talk. But women speak almost about everything.  They want to speak for interaction. For example In the evening women want to talk how was the day, what happened etc. but men are not like that. That’s why many of women are complaining about their husbands.

Then what about the question that which one talk more , men or women ??? I think this issue is depends on the personality. Because this is about the structure of human being. I mean that is something about personality. But to tell the truth there is a common perception that women talk much more than men. But that is not certainly true. As I said before, this is about the person’s character…

I SURF, THEREFORE, I AM

In the article -I Surf, Therefore I Am-  ; the teacher whose name is Judith Levine, demonstrates that students do not use internet for their courses or homeworks. She points out that internet is used just for surfing by students. I think she has a point because as a student, I am also an internet user but I use internet mostly for surfing or playing games etc. So this is a serious issue and we should realise something. Internet is something we use mostly for fun, not for their education. Judith Levine also presses this point. She says internet has a great effect on students. Besides once they start using it, they can not leave it. Many students are becoming addicted to the Internet. They spend more and more time on playing computer games or just surfing on the net without any particular reasons. Accordingly, the time they spend on studying is automatically reduce, which in turns causes the lower academic achievement. Moreover, some of them go to the extreme, becoming serious internet addicts, and they even refuse to go to school as they cannot escape from the trap of internet. Another aspect is, internet hinders students from doing their homework or assigned task by their own. Thanks to internet, students can obtain the information they need with a great ease by simply clicking the button. However, this great accessibility to any kind of information can be abused. For instance, when students are given an assignment, what many of them do is just go on the websites or the blogs where the needed information  is posted, and drag, they copy and paste it without looking the text  thoroughly. Some students even download the material which someone else has already done and submit it as if it were their own work. So as we see internet is not a good helper for student but if used right, it has many information for everything …

At Home with Mamma

In this article, it is indicated that the opinion that young people , especially teenagers, leave their homes or families after a certain period is not exactly true. We can say this depending on this article. Because there are a lot of examples that shows us Italien peoples that stay with their parents until their 30s and even 35s. I read this article and it really attract my attention. Because this is an interesting and even extraordinary fact comparing the present condition of life. Why those Italian men prefer to live with their parents instead of choosing a life that on their own? The answers for this question can be many. Maybe they love their parents and they do not want to be apart from them. Maybe they are lazy and don’t like working so they  want everything prepared and ready for themselves. But it is maybe because of the difficulties of living in Italy. Maybe it is not as easy as other countries to get along in Italy.

Those are possible answers but maybe all of them have an effect on their lifestyle. There are also some records that we can get information from. Those records have very surprising facts. Here is one of them :

According to a report published on Wednesday, almost a third of Italian adults (31%) live with their parents. The highest proportion was among 18- to 29-year-olds, for whom unemployment is particularly high, with 60.7% reported living at home.

This report shows that the unemployment has a big effect on men’s living with their parents.

After I see that the economy is effective about that, I think those Italian men are right about what they are doing. But still living with your family even after a certain age is very unfamiliar  thing for our country. We never break the connection with our families but living with them always is kind of weird...

This video is about the tv serial how I met your mother and how the characters in this movie  live their life and how they make life better.  After you watch it  I am sure you are going to love it. Because this video gives some clues about how a group of friends live their life, how enjoyable time they spent together and how they are having fun. In one way, they also teach us how tol ive for a happy life.  In this tiring World people should find a way to make life better and make this World a more entertaining place. Besides being busy doing our casual works, responsibilities  we shave to find ways to cheer up and live a happy life. That we want to have a nice life is depent on us. In this video we can see that thse people can make life funnier. Why wouldn’t we do that? We should do evrything that we need to live org et along but the point is we shouldn’t do that too much. The solution is just live and fell the moment I think. Do not worry or care too much and never let anything make you  upset…

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

‘How I met your mother’ is an tv serial  that tells the history of agroup of friends. Their names are Ted Mosby, Robin Scherbatsky, Barney Stinson, Marshall Eriksen and Lily Aldrin. To learn more about them and this tv serial let’s take look at some informations about them :

Production of this tv serial is the idea of two friends, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. They decide to write their crazy and stupid staff they did in New York.

 How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segel), drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny may have something else in store.

(Top Ten Most Popular Sports In the World)

In this video, as we mentioned before it gives informations about the top ten most popular sports, how many people like those sports etc.

Some more informations about the complicated ones :

·        Golf is placed on tenth position in the list of top ten most famous sports in the world. It is not so popular in middle class because it needs a spacious ground. The equipment’s used in this game are so expensive. Tiger Woods is the most popular player of this game and he is the richest player in the world. It is also very popular in India. Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhava are most prominent Indian Golfers. the combination of ball sport and club is golf.  In this game different variety of clubs are there, and each club is use to hit the ball in a different manner. The target is to place the ball inside the holes on the ground by hitting them with the clubs.

·        Baseball comes on fifth position in the list of most famous sports in the world. The basic idea of Baseball is like Cricket. It is not so popular in India because of monopoly of Cricket in our Country. Baseball also gave a plenty of legends to the world. Baseball is quicker in result than Cricket. That is why it is more popular in some countries.

·        Hockey stands on fourth position in the list of most famous sports in the world. Hockey is the national sport of India but the popularity of hockey in India is less than that of Cricket. Like Cricket and Football, Hockey also consists of two tems and there are 11 players in each team. The time period of a game is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Each team has to send the ball into the goal of opposition with the help of a stick. There is goalkeeper to protect the goal from the ball.

Major Dhyanchand of India is famous as ‘ THE WIZARD OF HOCKEY’. Like Football and Cricket, Hockey also has a world cup tournament in every 4 years.

·        Cricket is the second most famous sport of the world. There are two teams in this sport and each team has 11 players. There are many activities in this sport like batting, bowling, fielding, etc. If one team bowls, other has to bat and scoring runs by running between the wicket and scoring boundaries. This sport is controlled by International Cricket Council (ICC). The Indian authority of Cricket is BCCI. There are different versions of this sport i.e. One Day International (ODI), Test cricket and Twenty 20.  50 overs game is called one day match, 20 overs match is T20 and five day unlimited overs match is Test match. India is the two time winner of Cricket World Cup in 1983 under the leadership of Kapil Dev and in 2011 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Glenn Mcgrath, Brett Lee etc are living legends of this sport. Indian Premiere League is started in India to improve the popularity of the shortest version of this game. The concept of IPL is so good and the players and other officials associated with IPL earn a lot of money and viewers also enjoy to watch the legends playing together in a match. We can say it is the most famous sport in India.

these sports that takes place in the video are the best and entertaining ones as they are really loved by most people. But still some of them  are not familiar for our country. So I think we should practice as more sports as we can to make our life more colourful and lively...
